Most students stay in one of three main areas near the University Campus. Below are brief guides to each area to help you understand more about them.

This is the popular student area with houses located up to a 10-15 minute walk away from the main University buildings on the Treforest Campus. Houses vary in size and price within the area.
The streets are made up of terraced houses with some streets having larger Victorian bay fronted houses. All close to local amenities and transport links.
There is a myth that houses in Pontypridd and Rhydyfelin are too far away. Some houses, especially those towards the city centre or North of the A470.
The properties in this area can be up to a 20-25 minute walk but are in close vicinity to transport links and the perfect for those who own a bicycle, the distance away from the University can also have an effect on the prices. This may be something to consider if students are working on a tight budget.
A popular location for students based at the Glyntaff campus. Houses tend to be for groups of 3-5 students with larger groups being in the Treforest area. The houses are often larger and more residential in Glyntaff with the benefit of being only a few minutes walk from the Glyntaff Campus.
If students are living with people close to the main Treforest campus, there is a free bus every 15 minutes from the Student Union building over to Glyntaff.
